The folks at Bayou Teche Brewing are basically revolutionizing Louisiana craft brewing at a discarded rail car turned farmhouse brewery in tiny Arnaudville, Louisiana. To keep the party rolling, Bayou Teche chose TILT to rebrand the operation and repackage four of its flagship beers for January 2017 release. Starting with the brewery’s Cajun roots and “serious fun” attitude, we dove headfirst into the graphic style of 40s/50s men’s adventure magazines and B-movie posters, cooking up a vibrant set of epic swamp legends that celebrate a brand more than ready for the big time.
We’re doing big things with our beers, and we wanted to bring that same level of craft and creativity to how we offer our products in the market. The team at TILT really dug in and gave us something unique.
President, Bayou Teche Brewing
After tackling Bayou Teche’s core series, we were given the keys to drive packaging for Cinco de Bayou, the brewery’s Mexican lager. Equally inspired by dia de los Muertos and Louisiana’s sacred écrevisse, this ornately illustrated pack-and-label system created a lovely wrapper for a delightful summer beer.
In pushing the limits of what beer can be, Bayou Teche challenges us to create equally distinctive packaging — and we love it. Our work for their limited-edition 22-ounce bombers, including Biere Joie Imperial Stout with Chocolate and Coffee, and Loup-Garou Oak-Aged Belgian Stout with Licorice, won a National Silver ADDY® Award for illustration.
